This poem was written for the wedding of
Karen and Peter in July 2005. What virtue has love? It follows them From room to room, Leaving traces, That linger long To make this house A place of peace, A place of laughter, A place where love resides. This summer will be Remembered as the Season when love Was reborn; this day, A day of miracles. And that is its virtue; For each time love comes Around it is as fresh As the first time It touches us with Its delicate mystery, And those of us Who witness love, Who wish for love, Who watch while it Steals away these Brand new hearts Can (perhaps) Walk in this garden, Share bashful smiles, Remember poignant promises, Celebrate renewal, Make summer wishes; And know that this is The virtue of love. |
